Blanking Interface UNIT-BIU

Electronic equipment with discrete combinational logic used for validating and transmitting the control signals depending on certain conditions and predefined input sequences.

Blanking Interface Unit (BIU): Equipment that is part of the DAS ‘DefensiveAids System’ of the C-295 aircraft designed in order to give the Blankingsignals (erase boost) expected by the RWR (Radar Warning Receiver). Inorder to generate these signals, the BIU interconnects itself and process theinformation sent by the different radars of the systems: Weather Radar and Search Radar.
